§ 20-133. City authorized to remove motor vehicle.

  • In the event the person who has accumulated, stored or deposited, or caused or permitted to be accumulated, stored or deposited, any abandoned, junked or discarded motor vehicle upon any public or private property within the city fails or refuses to comply with the provisions of sections 20-131 through 20-135, or cannot be located, the county sheriff or the code enforcement manager, or their authorized designees, shall have the motor vehicle towed, removed and lawfully stored. The county sheriff's office or city code enforcement office will obtain a search warrant when required by law. Such motor vehicle so towed, removed and lawfully stored shall not be returned to the person until all costs of removal and storage shall have been paid and arrangements have been made to repair the motor vehicle or to dispose of same. F.S. § 705.101 et seq., is hereby adopted by reference.
